After Apple, now Google is also planning to make its flagship Google Pixel smartphone in India. The reason behind this is the lockdown and slow pace of production due to Kovid-19 in China. According to the claim, Google is planning to manufacture 5 to 10 lakh Pixel phones in India. The company is looking to move its business to Vietnam along with India.

Let us tell you that Tata Group has held talks with Wistron Corp regarding the manufacturing of Apple iPhone in India. A Bloomberg report claimed that the deal is on between the two companies and Tata may also buy a stake in Wistron’s Indian operations. The claim also talked about considering a new joint assembly plant of both the companies.

Reasons behind manufacturing in India

Recently Google has invited tenders from Indian manufacturers to manufacture its Pixel phones in India. The company plans to manufacture 5 to 10 lakh pixel phones in India. Till now Google has been manufacturing its flagship phone only in China. But due to Kovid-19, the supply chain has suffered a lot due to the lockdown in many other cities including Shanghai, China’s major technology hub. This is the reason why many hi-tech companies including Google want to reduce their dependence on China. It is being said that Google is considering to get 10 to 20 percent of its annual production in India. Including the manufacturing of the flagship Google Pixel smartphone. Google has also started the process for this.

Tata Group may make iPhone in India
