Good Friday is observed by Christians all over the world to mark crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
New Delhi April 10, 2020: Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Jesus Christ on Good Day, saying he devoted his life to serve others.
“Lord Christ devoted his life to serving others. His courage and righteousness stand out and so does his sense of justice. On Good Friday, we remember Lord Christ and his commitment to truth, service and justice,” PM Modi tweeted.

Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju asked people to have a “positive hope” on Good Friday. “May the Darkest Night will end and the Sun will rise. Have a positive hope on this auspicious day and have a blessed Good Friday!”, Mr Rijiju said on Twitter.
Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday or Black Friday, marks the day when Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross.
However this year, Good Friday is being marked in a subdued manner. Mass gatherings at churches across the country were suspended amid the nationwide lockdown imposed to stem the spread of coronavirus.
Since the deadly viral disease outbreak, the churches in Goa have stopped conducting masses, and prayers held in churches are streamed online to parishioners through social media platforms like Facebook.
In Kerala, the Christian community, which comprises more than 18 per cent of state’s population, stayed away from churches due to lockdown. Some churches in Wayanad and Kochi, however, live streamed prayer services for worshippers.
