Savitribai Phule
Earlier people were not very serious about the education of women. For them, girls are made only for the stove. In such situation, revolutionary women like savitri Bai Phule came forward and explained to the people how important a girl’s education is in the development of society and family. Savitribai is considered the first female school teacher in India.
Fatima Sheikh
Fatima Sheikh also falls in this category, who went from house and explained to the people that it is very important for girls or women to be educated. She was with Savitribai Phule as an associate. Fatima used to work as a teacher in Pune’s Bhidewada school.
Kadambini Ganguly and Chadramukhi Basu
These two women were the first women during the British rule to get a bachelor’s degree. Kadambini was the first women doctor in India to obtain a medical degree from Calcutta in 1886.
Begum Zafar Ali
