The Railway Minister has recently taken one such decision, in which he has decided to end the feudal system that has been going on in the Railways for years. RPF jawans are deployed in the Ministry of Railways and Railway GM offices across the country. The job of this jawan is only to salute.

The tradition was going on since the British era

This tradition is going on in Indian Railways since the British era. But Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has ordered to stop considering it as a feudal practice. Let us tell you that the top officials of the railways associate the salute with the status. Actually, there is a separate gate in the Ministry of Railways for the Railway Minister and the board member, where the RPF’s salute personnel used to be stationed in a special uniform.

Discount can start again

The same system used to be in all the zonal offices of the railways, but in the last days it was abolished with immediate effect. On the other hand, Indian Railways is considering re-introducing the discount on tickets for senior citizens. The Railways had to face criticism in the last days for not restoring the exemption.

According to sources, the railways may change the age limit criteria to give relaxation in the ticket price again. It is expected that the government should provide concessional fare facility to people above the age of 70 years. Earlier this facility was for women of 58 years and men who had completed 60 years of age.
