Indian Railways has started Onboard House keeping Service (OBHS) in 60 express trains in order to provide special facilities to the passengers. Presently around 570 train pairs are provided with On Board Housekeeping Services (OBHS) facilities across Indian Railways.
OBHS is being provided on identified Mail/Express trains satisfying laid down parameters such as journey time/period, coach type etc. Zonal Railways identify additional trains for provision of OBHS scheme, as per requirements, which is an ongoing process.
In this facility, passengers will be able to get their dirty coaches cleaned at any time. North Eastern Railway’s Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Banaras, Mau, Lucknow are now being ready and set to go with the new feature. On the Other Hand, Southern Railways has already this feature on 11 trains and are ready to prepare this feature on more 50 to 60 trains which are present-in day tarins or long-distance trains.
