Edappadi K Palaniswami, the Interim General Secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam moved the Madras High Court to filed the appeal, which prayed the court to grant an interim stay of Justice G Jayachandran’s order, pending disposal of this Original Side Appeal against a single judge order which directed for maintaining status-quo as of June 23, nullified the July 11 General Council meeting of the AIADMK. Where the appeal cited Paneerselvam, the first respondent, as Co-ordinator/Treasurer of the AIADMK party Palaniswami’ senior counsel made a mention before a division bench of Justices M Duraiswamy and Sundar Mohan this morning and as advised by the bench, Palaniswami filled the appeal later. Where his rival Panneerselvam was ousted from the party in the general council meet and K Palaniswami was elected as the interim general secretary of the party and Palaniswami’s position as the single, supreme leader of AIADMK is established with the fresh court order, as they set aside the single judge order in the favour of OPS
