A man has been arrested in Delhi for insulting the national flag, it is alleged that he used the national flag to clean his scooter. The accused person has been identified as Ghulam Mohammad, he is from North Ghonda, Delhi Bhajanpura.
The matter of insult to the national flag by this man came to light when a purported video of the incident was uploaded on social media by the locals, in the video, the man can be seen cleaning his scooter with the national flag and dusting it.
A senior police officer said, “Legal action has been initiated in the matter and a case has been registered at Bhajanpura police station under Section 2 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honor Act, 1971.” He said the flag used by the man and his scooter have also been confiscated.
