After 13 new cases of corona virus have been reported in India, the number of people infected with it has increased to 73. The Health Ministry gave this information on Thursday. Nine out of 13 new cases have come from Maharashtra while one case each has come from Delhi, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh. A foreign national has also been found infected with it. State-wise statistics said that till Thursday, six cases of corona virus have been reported in Delhi, while 10 people have been found infected in Uttar Pradesh. Four cases have been reported in Karnataka, 11 in Maharashtra and three in Ladakh. The ministry said that one case each has come up in Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. So far, 17 cases of corona virus have been reported in Kerala, including three people who were discharged after treatment last month.
- Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said on Wednesday that the spread of corona virus is a matter of concern and we are responsibly responding to it. He also assured that the government is committed to the safety and welfare of its citizens living in any part of the world.
- While giving a statement in the Lok Sabha on the basis of automatic cognizance on the issue of Karena virus, S Jaishankar said that a medical team has been sent to help the Indians trapped in Italy and those who are found negative in the investigation will be allowed to travel. Nodal offices are being set up there. He said that 6000 Indians were stranded in Iran, including 1100 devotees from Maharashtra and 300 students from Jammu and Kashmir. The foreign minister said that the initial emphasis is to bring back the pilgrims, most of whom are trapped in Iran’s com.
- Jaishankar said that spreading of corona virus is a matter of concern and we are responsibly responding to it and the government is committed to the safety and welfare of its citizens living in any part of the world. Jaishankar said that given the current state of the corona virus outbreak, it is necessary to strictly abide by the mandatory certificate of infection-free for anyone to return home.
- With the outbreak of Corona virus infection, the movement of traffic around the world increased investor concerns and heavy selling of shares of aviation companies took place on Thursday. IndiGo, SpiceJet and the discontinued Jet Airways fell sharply in the morning trade. SpiceJet declined by more than 18 percent.
- Shares of Interglobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, declined 10 per cent to Rs 1,039.35. SpiceJet shares fell more than 18 percent to Rs 49.40, while Jet Airways fell nearly five percent to Rs 18.95.
- Another person has been found infected with the Corona virus in Ladakh, the person has a history of traveling to Iran. With the new case, the number of infected people in the union territory has increased to three.
- Two students from the Amravati district in Italy, badly affected by the Corona virus, have been trapped, family members have requested the local MP for help to bring them back safely to India. Both have been stranded since Wednesday when students studying in Italy, Pranav Verale and Suraj Bundale, were stopped at Milan airport.
- Now cases of corona virus infection are decreasing rapidly in China. On Wednesday, the figure reached 3,169 in China with 11 deaths due to infection. However, for the first time in Wuhan, the most affected by the corona virus, the number of infections fell to eight, with eight new cases. At the same time, there has been an upsurge in “imported cases of Kovid-19”.
- Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri said in the Lok Sabha on Thursday that due to the Karona virus, the number of international passengers arriving at major airports of the country has come down and may be further reduced.
- Air India said on Wednesday night that it was temporarily closing flights to Rome, Milan and Seoul. An airline official said that services to Rome (Italy) will be closed from March 15 to 25. At the same time, flights to Milan (Italy) and the capital of South Korea will be suspended from 14 to 28 March.
